Washers & dryers — common questions
My dryer runs but does not heat — what is wrong?
On electric dryers it is typically the heating element, thermal fuse or cycling thermostat; on gas dryers the igniter or gas valve coils. A blocked vent can also trip the thermal fuse, so we check the vent too.
Is a washer that bangs during spin worth repairing?
Often yes — an out-of-balance load, worn shock absorbers or a loose counterweight are inexpensive. Failed drum bearings are a larger job, and we will tell you plainly whether it makes sense.
Do you clean dryer vents?
Yes, as part of a dryer repair or as a standalone visit.
