My garbage disposal hums but does not spin — is it dead?
Usually not. It is jammed. We clear it and check the flywheel and seals; if the motor has burned out we replace the unit.
Can a microwave drawer be repaired or must it be replaced?
Most faults — drawer motor, switches, control board, magnetron — are repairable, and repair is far cheaper than replacing a built-in unit.
