Frigidaire repair — common questions
Are Frigidaire and Electrolux parts interchangeable?
Some are. Both brands belong to Electrolux and share components on a number of refrigerators and ranges, but many parts are specific to a single model family. We match the part to the Frigidaire's model and serial so the replacement fits properly and behaves the way the original did.
My Frigidaire upright freezer is frosting up — can it be repaired?
Usually. Heavy frost in an upright freezer is commonly caused by a worn door gasket, a door that isn't closing fully or, on frost-free models, a defrost heater, sensor or control that has failed. We check the seal and the defrost circuit, clear the ice and replace whichever part has let go.
Why does my Frigidaire gas oven take so long to light?
A weak igniter is the usual culprit. The gas safety valve only opens once the igniter draws enough current, so an igniter that still glows can be too weak to open it. We measure the igniter's draw and test the valve, then replace whichever of the two is holding the oven back.
