LG repair — common questions
Is a warm LG refrigerator always a bad linear compressor?
No. The compressor takes the blame, but the same symptoms can come from a failing evaporator fan, an evaporator frosted over after a defrost fault, or the inverter board that drives the compressor. We measure each of those first, because a compressor replacement is sealed-system work that should only be done when it's genuinely needed.
My LG front-loader thumps and grinds on spin — is it the bearings?
Sometimes. On a direct-drive LG, a loose rotor, a damaged stator, a worn shock absorber or a coin trapped between drum and tub can sound very like failing bearings. We turn the drum by hand, inspect the rotor and suspension, and only recommend a bearing and seal job when the tub itself tells us that's the problem.
Can you work on an LG WashTower installed in a tight laundry closet?
Yes. The WashTower is a single stacked unit with its controls in the centre, so it has to be eased out and handled as one piece. We check clearance and the water, vent and power or gas connections first, then open up whichever section — washer or dryer — is actually at fault.
